The 20th academic year has begun at the country’s most remote police college, the Yakut Branch of the Private Professional Educational Institution “Legal Police College”.

It is headed by its long-serving director, Vera Gavrilievna Burtseva, Colonel of Militia, Vice President of the Yakut Regional Branch of the All-Russian Police Association, and Honoured Worker of the National Economy.

Despite its remoteness, the college has established itself as one of the recognised institutions of secondary vocational education in the Republic and is rightfully considered a training ground for personnel for structural units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Students of the branch actively take part in events of the Yakut Regional Branch of the IPA Russian Section, serve as part of the people’s voluntary guard and undertake practical training in public-order protection.
